Artistic Director of the New Haven Ballet
New Haven Ballet is seeking an experienced and dynamic Artistic Director. Applicants should be energetic, enthusiastic, and creative with a strong background in ballet. Duties will include teaching, supervising daily operations of the school and pre-professional company, producing yearly Nutcracker and spring performances at the famous Shubert Theater, choreography, community outreach, and collaborating with the Board of Directors on the annual budget and fulfilling the artistic mission of the New Haven Ballet.

New Haven Ballet is a nonprofit pre-professional ballet school and company. Founded in 1985, New Haven Ballet is based in New Haven, CT with over 500 students in the New Haven and Guilford studios. Sabbatical Replacement Position and Adjunct Dance Faculty Positions
Springfield College - Academic Year 2010-2011

The Dance Department at Springfield College is looking for several qualified candidates to teach undergraduate dance courses for majors and non-majors. In addition, for one semester, a sabbatical replacement for the dance program director is needed to handle artistic and administrative responsibilities of the dance major program, which is housed within the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced college teachers interested in part-time work or recently graduated MFA or MA students in dance who wish to gain experience in a small college dance program. There are also opportunities to continue choreographing and performing.

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in dance and have teaching experience in some of the following areas: Dance Appreciation/History, Choreography I, Introduction to Dance (for non-majors), Jazz Dance, Modern and Postmodern Dance, Laban Movement Analysis, Advanced Dance Seminar, and Concert Production.

Additional responsibilities may also include: advising, Open House for prospective students, SC Dancers club advisor, administration, budget, supervising fieldwork.

Start date: August 2010. Salary to be determined.

Full-Time Dance Position at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School
Full time dance position to be available at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School in New Haven. Candidates must have teacher certification in CT or be currently enrolled in a dance certification program. Priority will be given to those with performance and teaching experience in ballet, modern, jazz, cultural/social, tap, African or a combination of these dance forms. Must be able to work with students at all experience and ability levels. Instructional plans need to include dance technique, theory/history, and preparation for public dance performances. University of Hartford/The Hartt School - Notice of Faculty Vacancy
Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Dance

The Dance Division of The Hartt School at the University of Hartford is searching for a teacher of modern dance who will contribute successfully to our strong forward-thinking curriculum of professional level ballet, ballet pedagogy and contemporary performance technique. We seek someone who will offer to our students rigorous technical preparation, careful mentoring and highly defined professionalism.

Responsibilities: The Hartt School is looking for an experienced teacher of modern dance (Graham, Limon, or Horton techniques) to join our internationally recognized undergraduate faculty. Knowledge and ability to teach one or more of the following is also desired: dance composition dance history, repertory, partnering and/or music for dancers. The successful candidate will also be able to assist in the recruitment of talented students. Full-time duties additionally will include serving on departmental of school-wide committees, advising students and remaining active in dance performance, pedagogical, or other creative/scholarly pursuits.

Qualifications: MFA in Dance preferred, BFA required; prior teaching and substantial dance performance experience. Excellent teaching, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. The University of Hartford is an open and welcoming community, which values diversity in all its forms.
