Dear Member of Connecticut’s Dance Community,
 

This is a friendly reminder to join or renew your membership to CONNECTICUT DANCE ALLIANCE for 2008-2009.
 

We have been very busy working toward improving the quality and quantity of Connecticut Dance Alliance (CDA) events, networking opportunities, and membership benefits. We now have a CDA e-newsletter “cda newslinks” and a new blog for comments and dance reviews www.ctdance.wordpress.com. We have begun offering open rehearsals for members and we are thrilled to announce our events for the next six months.
 

Our annual CDA Distinguished Achievement Awards Ceremony will honor Cheryl Smith, Associate Director of the Artists Collective in Hartford, for 40 years of service, and Noble Barker, Artistic Director of the New Haven Ballet. The event will be held at the brand new Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center at The Hartt School, University of Hartford on Friday, September 26, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Our annual Dance Educators’ Forum will be held at Naugatuck Valley Community College on Wednesday, October 22, and will include a workshop with Peter DiMuro, Producing Artistic Director, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange and an American Ballet Theater (ABT) teaser for ABT’s new ballet curriculum, plus a grant writing workshop with Carol Terry, Director of Greater Hartford’s Dance Umbrella. And, once again, our popular annual event, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Dance will return to the Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven on Monday, January 19, 2009.
 

In addition, we have a new improved membership schedule. Your yearly membership will be valid for one year ahead from the date that your subscription is received.
 

As you can see we have an exciting six months ahead of us (with lots more in the pipeline) and we very much hope you will be a part of it. Please send in your dues today and renew your commitment to supporting dance in Connecticut.
